01 System and access

What is eMonit and what is it used for?

eMonit is a remote IoT monitoring system. It collects data from environmental and industrial sensors and event detection devices. Depending on the installation, it can monitor air quality, presence, energy consumption, liquid levels, vibration, temperature and humidity. Readings, history and alerts are available in an online dashboard.

What types of sensors does eMonit offer?

The range includes measurement sensors, event detectors and counters. We select them for the application, required connectivity and operating conditions.

Measurement range, accuracy, power supply, communication and features depend on the model. Not every sensor is available with every connectivity option. Compatibility with the installation is confirmed during device selection.

How do I access the dashboard? Does it work on a phone?

The dashboard is available in a browser on a computer, tablet or smartphone. Access credentials and permissions are agreed when the service is commissioned. If you cannot access an existing installation, contact its administrator or our team.

Can I monitor several sites in one system?

Yes. eMonit can collect measurements from multiple locations. Selected sensors can be shared with users according to their permissions. Site organisation and data access are agreed during deployment.

Can an existing installation be expanded?

Yes, after checking compatibility of new devices and infrastructure capacity. Expansion may include additional measurement points, locations or features. Send the models of your current sensors and describe the planned changes so we can assess the work.

02 Sensors and connectivity

Wired, LoRaWAN or GSM: which should I choose?

Consider wired connections for fixed points with available cable routes. LoRaWAN sends measurements by radio to a gateway. GSM provides cellular transmission, for example where a site has no LAN access.

These technologies can complement one another: sensors use LoRaWAN while the gateway connects to the internet over GSM. The choice requires checking power supply, coverage and device compatibility.

Does each LoRaWAN sensor require a SIM card?

No. A LoRaWAN sensor communicates by radio with a gateway, not directly with a cellular network. A SIM card may be needed in a modem or gateway if its internet connection uses an operator's network.

Can I use sensors I already own?

It may be possible, but the model, interface and communication protocol must be checked. Send device model numbers or documentation. Measuring a particular parameter does not by itself make a sensor compatible with the system.

What is the sensor range and battery life?

There is no single value for every installation. Range depends on building construction, obstacles and gateway positions, among other factors. Battery life depends on the model, power supply, conditions and transmission frequency. Parameters are established for the selected equipment and site.

How should sensor parameters and range be selected?

Tell us what you want to measure or detect and under what conditions. Measurement sensors require suitable range, accuracy and any necessary calibration. Presence detectors and people counters also depend on detection area and installation position. Selection and periodic verification are agreed individually.

03 Alerts and data

How will I receive an alert about a threshold or event?

The system supports email, SMS and GSM voice notifications, as well as dashboard alerts. Depending on the sensor and configuration, a trigger may be a measurement threshold, a leak, door opening or missing transmission. Channels, recipients and rules are agreed for each service.

Does a brief measurement fluctuation have to trigger an alert?

Not every fluctuation needs to generate a notification. Alert delay and hysteresis help adapt the response to the application. Hysteresis separates activation and deactivation thresholds, reducing frequent changes near the limit. Event rules, such as opening or leaks, are configured separately.

What happens if internet access or power is lost?

New online readings require a working connection, and measurement requires device power. The system can report missing transmissions. Local recording, later upload and backup power depend on the equipment; they should not be assumed for every sensor.

If measurements must be preserved during an outage, mention this when selecting the installation.

Can I review history and export measurements?

Yes. The dashboard provides historical data, charts, selected sensor comparisons and CSV export for further analysis. Retention periods and reporting scope depend on the agreed service.

How often are measurements updated?

This depends on the device, configuration and transmission method. Measurement frequency is not always the same as upload frequency. The required interval is agreed with the application, power supply and connectivity in mind.

04 Deployment and support

How much does the system cost and what is needed for a quote?

Cost depends on sensor numbers and types, installation, gateways or modems, transmission and service scope. Send a site description, the number of measurement points, available power and network access, and your preferred alert method.

How is monitoring commissioned?

We first define measurement parameters and requirements. We then select sensors and connectivity and configure the dashboard, thresholds and alert recipients. Commissioning includes checking readings and agreed notifications. Scope and timing depend on the site.

Where can eMonit sensors and the system be used?

Applications depend on the sensor: from air quality and room occupancy to opening and leak detection, vibration, liquids and energy consumption. Monitoring can cover offices, production halls, warehouses, server rooms and vehicles. Equipment and communication are selected for installation conditions.

Can I request an additional feature or integration?

We can assess adapting the software to individual needs. Describe the data sources, devices and expected outcome. Feasibility, scope and price are confirmed after assessing the requirements.

Custom applications
What information should I provide when reporting a problem?

Include the site name, device or sensor identifier, the time the issue occurred and a description of the symptoms. A screenshot without confidential information can help. Do not send your dashboard password or access keys.
